James’ Obituary James Thomas “Butch” Ritter passed away on the 25th day of October 2019 at the age of 74. Butch was born in Hollywood, Florida August 29, 1945. Butch’s love for cars and his entrepreneurial spirit led him to open his own automotive shop, Ritter’s Automotive in Baytown, TX in the late 70’s which he operated for nearly 20 years until a broken back and other injuries from falling off a roof took his life in another direction. Butch loved being a father, grandfather and riding around town with his dog Possum at his side. Butch was an avid studier of the bible and was always on a quest to find the answer to his purpose. Butch is proceeded in death by his daughter Frances Ritter, son Danny Adams, parents Jack C. Ritter and Frances Stone, Sister Jackie Berner and his beloved Aunt Evelyn (Totty). He is survived by his son Jack and wife Jessica Ritter and granddaughters Samantha, Kaitlyn and Maddison of Highlands, TX; daughter Karla Griggs of Titusville, FL and granddaughter Stephanie Smith and great-grandson Cordero Smith Jr. of Orlando; grandson Willie Veal Jr. of Orlando; daughter Gloria and husband Billy O’Bannon of Baytown, TX and grandson Bryan O’Bannon (fiancé Emma) of Baytown, TX and granddaughter Courtney O’Bannon of College Station; beloved sister Barbara and husband Richard Witsberger Aunt Peggy and Uncle Glenn Tollerence along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loved family members. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday October 29, 2019 in the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time.
