Born April 3, 1935 to Jess and Mattie Steward. He was a lifetime member of Old Salem Baptist Church. He was a retired Maintenance Foreman for New Boston Property Management. He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Hanes Steward. One sister and brother in law, Darnell and Wayne Daniel. Three daughters and two son in laws. Lisa and Rodney Williams, Jana and Ricky Meadows, and Tena Gross. Six grandkids, Derek May, Leah Trusley, Cara Jones, Sean Meadows, Matthew May, and Rebecca Meadows. And, nine great grandkids. Visitation will be Monday October 28, 2019 at 1 PM at Old Salem Baptist Church, with services to follow. Cory Espinoza and Forrest Taylor officiating. Interment will be at Old Salem Cemetery, in New Boston, Tx under the direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Old Salem Baptist Church. Print Obituary
