James “Butch” Curts, 59, of Laconia, died Friday, October 18, 2019, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon. He was born August 2, 1960, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Joseph and Bertha Gertude Anderson Curts Wiseman. He was a retired carpenter and was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Laconia. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Gloria Doyle. Survivors include his wife, Deanna Crosier Curts; his brother, Jerry Hoagland of Jeffersonville, Indiana; his sister, Sandy Hutchinson of Sullivan, Indiana; and his loving nieces. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2019, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Father David Kocka will officiate. Burial will be in Old Goshen Cemetery near Laconia. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bryan Williar, Jonathan Dorton, Wesley Smith, Rickman Carden, John Miller and Bob Kingsley. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the James Graham Brown Cancer Center for the Lung Cancer Research Fund, 529 South Jackson Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40202.
