Herbert’s Obituary Herbert “Herb” Lape, age 91, of Lady Lake, FL passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019. He was born in Effex, MO on December 3, 1927. Herb served in the US Army during WWII with General Patton during the Battle of the Bulge. During his life he worked as a Car Hauler. He enjoyed singing, playing guitar and dancing (Jitterbugging). Herb moved to Lady Lake 8 years ago. He was a member of the American Legion # 347. He was also a Free and Accepted Mason. He is survived by his children David Lape and Denise Lape; daughter in law Lenore Lape; sister Mabel Hechenberger; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and he was a beloved uncle to several nieces and nephews. Herb was preceded in death by sons Dennis, Donald and Darrell. A visitation will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd, The Villages, FL on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 3-5pm. Funeral Service on Monday, Nov. 4th 12:30pm at Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston, Michigan. Friends may visit from 11:30am until the service. Interment with military honors at Ottawa Park Cemetery, Clarkston.
