Helen Joy Jackson October 18, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Helen Joy Jackson, 72, of McCalla, AL passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 after a long illness and declining health. Helen lived in Diversicare Nursing Home, Oxford, Alabama over the last twenty years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Jackson and Rev. Johnny Jackson. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Rosser; her brothers, Preston Jackson, Charles Jackson, Johnny Jackson and Robert Jackson; fifteen nephews and nieces. As a resident of Diversicare in Oxford, AL, Helen enjoyed the activities and numerous friendships with the nursing home staff and other residents. Her highlight of the week was attending their weekly worship service and gospel hour each Sunday. Helen professed her belief as a Christian and was baptized by Brother Larry at Diversicare. Before moving to Diversicare, Helen lived several years in group homes in both Fruithurst and Alexandria, Alabama and Partlow Hospital in Tuscaloosa. Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2019 with memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Jerry Curry.
