Harold “Butch”‘s Obituary Harold “Butch” Richard Thompson, age 63, formerly of Minong and Milwaukee, passed away, Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Hayward Health Services in Hayward, WI. He was born October 24, 1955 in Hayward, the son of George “Buddy” and Elizabeth “Betty” (Chartier) Thompson. Harold was raised in Minong and graduated from Northwoods High School in 1973. He moved to Milwaukee where he worked for over 40 years as a carpenter, foundry worker and doing other various jobs. He moved back to Minong to work at Jack Link and retired in 2017. Harold was an old hippie who enjoyed a good drink and smoke. He liked to listen to 70’s music and going for long rides. He loved his family and times spent together. He is survived by his three sons, Christopher, Adam (Jessica) and Brian; sister, Cheryl Thompson; niece, Jessica Powers-Thompson; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Betty and three brothers, David, Ronnie and Bruce. A celebration of Butch’s life will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the River Church in Minong with Pastor Ben Kidder officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. A reception will follow the services in the church fellowship hall. Arrangements are by Roberts Funeral Home of Ashland. Read More
