Gwen Donahue, 86, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Wheatland Manor, Wheatland. Gwendolyn Joyce Donahue was born June 11, 1933, to Theodore and Verda (Bieber) Kenney in Maquoketa, Iowa. Gwen married Robert Paulsen in 1948. The couple resided south of Grand Mound for many years, where she was a homemaker, raising three sons. She later married Jerry Donahue in 1980, he preceded her in death in 2004. Gwen also worked as a real estate agent for many years. Gwen had been a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Grand Mound and was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, and corresponding with friends. She is survived by her sons, Steven Paulsen of Davenport, Russell and Mary Paulsen of DeWitt, and Bill and Nancy Paulsen of Pueblo, Colorado; grandchildren, Robert, Gary, Matthew, Tavia, Ben, Nina, and Nicole; and 11 great-grandchildren; five stepsons, and two stepdaughters. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound. A private graveside service will be held Saturday at Calvary Cemetery, Grand Mound.
