Gloria (Ochenkowski) Blais, 79, a lifelong resident of Springfield, died Saturday, October 12, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Frank & Helen (Sledziewski) Ochenkowski. Gloria was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. She enjoyed her summer vacations with her family in Hampton Beach, NH. Gloria also enjoyed a good BINGO game with family and friends at Foxwoods Casino. She also enjoyed hosting the holidays at her house and summer pool parties in the backyard. Gloria married her high school sweetheart, Philip R. Blais, and they were married for 57 years until his passing in 2015. Well into their seventies, they could be seen taking their daily walks, still holding hands. Her final years were spent enjoying time with her great-grandson, Dominic. Gloria is survived by her two children, her son, Mark Blais and his husband, Mark Fowles of Florence, and her daughter, Pamela Cormier and her husband Peter of Springfield, one brother, Frank Ochenkowski and his wife Alicia of Sun City, AZ, as well as her two grandchildren, Bennett Cormier, and Heather Foucher and her husband Cory, and her great-grandson, Dominic Foucher. She was the sister of the late Diane Bogacz and Walter Ochenkowski. Funeral Services will be held privately by her family. Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services of Springfield is assisting the family.
