Geraldine “Geri” Elizabeth (Clay) Malkowski March 21, 1940 – October 14, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Geraldine “Geri” Elizabeth (Clay) Malkowski, 79, of McAlester, died Monday, October 14, 2019 at her residence. Per Geri’s request, no services are scheduled. Inurnment will be at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Geri was born to Hoyt and Marion (Holloway) Clay on March 21, 1940 at Carbon. She was raised in Pittsburg County, and moved to Chicago in 1963. She married Donald Malkowski. In Chicago, she worked for Woolworth’s in the diner and worked her way up to the position of area supervisor where she was responsible for 27 Woolworth restaurants. She retired in 1985 and returned to McAlester. She worked for McAlester Schools as a cafeteria manager for 5 years, and then for Meals on Wheels for 4 years. She enjoyed crocheting and was a member of Cornerstone Church in Arpelar. Geri was preceded in death by her parents: Hoyt Clay and Marion Clay-Evans, her husband: Donald Malkowski, son: Carl Burks, nephews: Clifton and Michael; and nieces: Patty and Rebecca. She is survived by her daughter: Becky Fitzgerald and husband, Mike of Wellston; son: Jerry Wayne Sennett and wife, Ann of Arpelar; 2 grandsons; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers: Doyle Clay of Indianola, Hoyt Clay and wife, Gayle of Clever, Missouri. Also sister: Anna Mooney of Bache; nephews: Donald, Clyde, and Denny; nieces: Robin, Joyce, Kim, Ada, and Ann; great-nieces: Lisa, Randi, and Cindy; special friends: Paul and Lou Perry, John and Gwen Titsworth; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
