GEORGE HENRY “BUBBY” WALKER, JR BURLINGTON-Mr. George Henry “Bubby” Walker, 85, of 2219 Sunset Hill, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at Liberty Commons. George was the son of George Henry Walker, Sr. and Blanche Robinson Walker, both deceased. He was also the husband of Rhoda Watson Walker, who survives. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a son, Calvin Walker, a brother, James Walker (Delois) and a sister, Gladys W. Duke. In addition to his wife of the home he leaves to cherish his memories a daughter, Valerie W. Costin (Delton) of Wilmington; a brother, Charles L. Walker (Cynthia) of Wilmington; a sister, Mildred W. Ripley of Wilmington; two god daughters, Shon Richmond of Burlingtron; and Natasha Turner (Fred) of Hubert; one grandchild and two great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. George’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Bethel Fellowship Church with Reverend Otis Wiley officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the funeral service at the church and all other times at the home. A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the funeral home from 1-8:00 pm. Alamance Funeral Service has the honor of serving the Walker family.
