George’s Obituary George D. Jenkins Jr., 88, passed away October 23, 2019. George was retired from Citizens Gas and Coke Utility after 33 years. He was a Korean War Veteran and had worked on the Railroad. He is survived by his wife, Carol Rubin Jenkins, married for 55 years; daughters, Marcy Smock (Dale) of Va. Beach, VA, Melanie Thompson (Steve) of Shelbyville IN, Rhonda Jenkins of Indianapolis IN and Lori Birr (Martin) of Brownsburg IN; brother, Donald Jenkins of Indianapolis IN; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; 2 honorary grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, George Jenkins Sr., mother, Edith Cummins Jenkins and brother, Robert Jenkins. A Celebration of Life will be held 4pm Sunday October 27, 2019 at Conkle Funeral Home Speedway. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
