Gary’s Obituary Gary D. Carter, age 67, died on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 7:35 AM at St. Rita’s Medical Center Mercy Health, Lima, Ohio. He was born on March 7, 1952 in Lima, Ohio to the late Roy B. and Donna (Wilkins) Carter. On May 15, 1993 he married Darlene Bailey and she died July 1, 2018. Gary retired from the Allen County Sanitary Department after 35 years. Surviving are two sons, Matt Carter of Lima and Jeff Carter of Ada; two daughters: Alicia Schweda of Lima, and Heather Carter of Lima; six grandchildren: Christopher Patrick, Thomas Gipson, Sophia Carter, Arrick Carter, Abigail Phillips and Willow Carter; two great grandchildren Riley Wreede and Kaiden Gipson. Also surving are four sisters: Linda (Bob) Haley of Columbia, TN, Janice (Kevin) Cremeans of Bloomingburg, Ohio, Kathy (Arnie) Baldazo of Lima, and Becky (Randy) Haley of Lima. He was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Hartzog. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Pastor Thomas Dearth officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until the time of the service on Wednesday.
