Garry Harris I, age 79, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born July 19, 1940 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of George Albert and Sarah Pauline (Brown) Harris. Garry was a carpenter. Preceding Garry in death were a daughter, Stacey Harris, his parents, two brothers, and one sister. Survivors include his twelve children: Michael (Allison) Harris of Millington, Illinois, Garry D. (Ruth) Harris of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Sarah (Jeff) Ardelean of Sandwich, Illinois, Gregory (Robin) Harris of Washington, Indiana, Jill Harris of Garland, Texas, Timothy (Paige) Harris of Coplay, Pennsylvania, Garry Downey of Bridgeport, Illinois, Matthew Harris of Flat Rock, Illinois, Jeffrey (Amy) Harris of Leonard, Texas, Eric (Heather) Harris of Pinkstaff, Illinois, Tracey (Sheryl) Harris of Fort Worth, Texas, Lynnette Wilson of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one brother, Larry (Beverly) Harris of Thayer, Missouri; one sister, Georgia (Richard) Sears of Sugar Grove, Illinois; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Garry’s final wishes were to be cremated; no formal services will be conducted. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
