Garrett’s Obituary Garrett Hunter Hughes, 30, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana was born on March 24, 1989, and passed away on October 21, 2019. Garrett was the son of Keith A. Hughes and Brenda Guidroz Hughes of Prairieville, Louisiana. Garrett affectionately known by his family as “Flipper” and “G-Money” had a great appreciation for the outdoors, nature, and all of God’s creations. He loved the water, mountains, sunrises, and sunsets. His spiritual peace was most found at Petit Jean Mountain in Morrilton, Arkansas. Garrett’s passion was art! He loved to draw and take photographs, and had a special fondness of graffiti art. He had a great sense of humor and was happy making others smile. He always felt the pain and suffering of the underdog and would go to great lengths to help others in need. Garrett will be remembered in many ways by many people, but mostly as a loving son. Garrett would have asked everyone to be happy, DREAM, and to know that peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of Christ. May he rest in eternal peace with our God in heaven. Garrett is preceded in death by his grandfathers: Herman Guidroz and William Joseph Hughes. He is survived by his parents; sisters; Brett Danielle Bourque and husband Clay of Prairieville, Louisiana and Abby Grace Hughes of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; grandmothers: Ladye Pearl Guidroz of Arnaudville, Louisiana and Jacqueline Juanita Hughes of Prairieville, Louisiana; nephews: Owen Matthew Bourque and Reid Alan Bourque along with many other family and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. inside the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church- 2250 Main Street. Baton Rouge, LA 70802 (225) 387-6671.
