Fred D. (Buddy) Davis age 94 passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 at his home in Fulton, AL after a short illness. Buddy was born in Fulton on February 1, 1925 to William Dawson Davis and Lola Horton Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Roy Davis, sister, Ruth Davis Veach, and special son-in-law, Jim Nelson. He was employed for 48 years at Scotch Lumber Company where everyone was friend or family. He was happiest at home in Fulton telling old stories about the sawmill and good times with childhood friends. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marguerite Coleman Davis, his sons, Tim Davis of Jay, FL, and Coleman Davis (Lynne Campbell) of Geismer, LA: his daughters, Kathy Davis (Ed Holley) of Millers Ferry, AL, and Joni Nelson of Columbiana, AL; niece, Jackie V. Dillard of Birmingham, AL: special nephew, Jimmy Earl Davis of Fulton, AL; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and too many friends to count. Visitation will be held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Graveside funeral services will follow at 2:30 pm at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville, AL with Rev. Mike Bedsole, Jody Daniels, Joe McNider, and Murphy Clarke officiating.
