She was the daughter of the late George Ralph Debnam and Annie Mae Mitchell Debnam of Vance County. She was a former employee of the Glass Plant where she served as financial secretary of the Union. She is survived by a son, Michael Carter of GA; four daughters, Wilda Carter-Neville of Durham, Cynthia Wooster of Raleigh, Jamesena Lucas of Greensboro, and Shelby Carter of GA; a brother, James Debnam of GA; three sisters, Mary Foster of Henderson, Georgia Kearney of Thomasville, and Gwendolyn Belk of Raleigh; and a vast number of grands. great grands, and great-great grands. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 31 at 12:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens. The family will receive visitors thirty minutes prior to services at the funeral home.
