Eileen’s Obituary Eileen Hickcox, 90, died after a struggle with chronic aging on October 22, 2019 at the St. Vincent’s Care Center in Bismarck, ND. She was born March 1, 1929 in Napoleon, ND to George and Alvina (Wolff) Granas and was raised there with her sister Helen (Ritter). Eileen attended business college in Fargo before moving to Sioux Falls, where she met her life-long love Robert Hickcox. They married February 2, 1955 and lived for short time near Gann Valley, SD before moving to Bismarck in the fall of 1958 to raise their sons Rodney, Gary, and David. She worked at the ND Teacher’s Retirement Fund for many years until her retirement. Eileen is survived by sons Rodney (JoAnn) and Gary (Wendy); grandsons Brandon (Kathie & great-grandaughter Addie), Bismarck; and Michael (Amy), Plymouth, MN. She is the birth mother to John Metcalf and Becky Mayes. A private memorial service and interment at the ND Veteran’s Cemetery has taken place. Read More
