Obituary of Edward Lee Panepento Edward Lee Panepento GREECE – October 22, 2019, at the age of 77. Ed is predeceased by his parents, Frank & Josephine; brother, Charles. He is survived by his beloved wife, Loreta (Puodziunas) Panepento; four legged companion, Angel; loving family, Long (Kim Dang) Steven, Edward, Eric Panepento; Nick (Andrea) Nolan Nguyen, Thomas Danny (Kim) Sofa, Stella Murray; cousins, Donald (Reyhan) Antinore; extended family and friends, especially in North Carolina. Edward was a proud Navy & Marine Corps veteran whom served in Vietnam as a corpsman. He became a physicians assistant and being the first class to graduate from Duke University. Ed loved medicine all of his life. He was also a certified black belt and taught classes for many years – PKN was the class name. Ed sponsored over 50 Vietnamese refugees here in the city. The young men considered him as their father figure and now their children refer to him as grandfather. He was very proud of this accomplishment. Ed’s services were held privately.
