HOLYOKE Edward R. Paquette, age 79, of Holyoke, died Sunday October 13, 2019 at Holyoke Medical Center. Edward was born in Holyoke, son of the late Omer J. and Beatrice G. (Grandchamp) Paquette, and graduated from Holyoke Trade School. Edward joined the U.S. Army in 1963 and went on to have a 21 plus year career in the United States Air Force and Army National Guard. He worked for many years for Reliance Electric and went on to retire as a Baker at the University of Massachusetts. Ed was a 3rd Degree Lifelong Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4044, the American Legion Post #325 and an avid golfer in the Eastmountain Country Club Ed Norman golf league. He was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of the Cross Parish. Edward is survived by two brothers: Leon O. Paquette of South Hadley and Bernard A. Paquette and his wife Beverly of East Longmeadow; and four nephews: Richard, Michael, Daniel, and Kevin. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Suzanne (Bail) Paquette. A funeral service will be held Friday October 18 at 10:00am in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
