Dorothy Irene Richardson, of Sparta, was blessed to live to the age of 101. She passed away October 8, 2019 at Ozark Nursing and Care where she had made her residence for several years. She was born September 13, 1918 in Christian County, the daughter of Perl and Lois (Hiles) Gilley. On September 17, 1938 she and Lee David Richardson were united in marriage. Her husband preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by two infant sons, Gary Lee and Ricky Dane; a brother, Noel Gilley; two sisters, Hazel Walker and Maude Gilley; and her parents. Dorothy is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a member of the Oldfield Church of Christ. In earlier years she and Lee enjoyed camping and fishing. Dorothy had a heart to care for others. She cared for her mother until her death at age 102, her husband when he became ill, and watched over her nieces and nephews, she loved so much. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 11, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Ken Eakins officiating. Burial will follow in Oldfield Cemetery.
