Dorothy M. DeCicco, 91, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2019. She was born and raised in Hoboken, NJ. Dorothy was the first graduation class of Holy Rosary Grammar School, Jersey City; and attended Ferris High School. Later on in life, she worked as a custodian for the Jersey City Board of Education. After retirement, Dorothy enjoyed spending her time down at the Jersey Shore, cooking her favorite Italian dishes, and making wonderful memories with her grandchildren and her dog. She was the beloved daughter of Dominic and Emelia Ventola; and was predeceased in life by her husband, Gerard S. DeCicco, Sr., who was a WWII veteran. Dorothy is survived by her caring children, Gerard “Jerry” Jr. and Amelia; her daughter-in-law, Lisa; and by her loving grandchildren, Olivia and Nicholas. Visitation is Friday, October 18, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City, NJ 07306. (For GPS Navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City). A prayer service is offered during visitation. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in honor of Dorothy to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org)
