Doris B. Stickney, 96, 1241 Rock St., Bloomingdale, NY, passed away peacefully October 1, 2019 at the Jefferson County Hospice Residence at the Ellis Farm. She was born on February 21, 1923 in Vermontville, NY, daughter of Leander and Minnie (Patenaude) Begor. Doris married Ellsworth Stickney, who was killed in 1944, while serving in the US Army during WWII. She would reside in Bloomingdale, NY where she raised her family. She moved to Watertown in 2018 to reside with her daughter. She enjoyed making crafts, cooking and she was a very private person. Among her survivors are a son, Robert L. Stickney, Reno, NV, a daughter, Veronica A. Malambri, Watertown, four grandchildren, Michele (Ralph) Frost, Kevin Johnstone, Kelly (Dan) Lockwood and Lisa Johnstone, five great grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Jessica, Taylor, and Madison, a great great grandson, James, and her sister, Cynthia Oliver, Bloomingdale, NY, many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her beloved husband she is predeceased by a grandson, Dale Johnstone and four brothers and four sisters. Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 4th at the Brookside Cemetery in Bloomingdale, NY. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601.
