Doris A. Scherr, 95, Marshfield, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Atrium Post Acute Care, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Rembs Funeral Home, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Marshfield and pallbearers will Brian Gust, Ben Gust, Derek Gust, Graig Scherr, Steve Ross and Jason VanNurden. Honorary pallbearers will be Heidi VanNurden and Trisha Ross. Doris was born on October 19, 1923 in Marshfield, to Walter and Linda (Schallock) Podratz and attended Marshfield elementary and Senior High Schools. She was united in marriage to Edward J. Scherr on September 8, 1945 at Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield. He died on January 14, 2000. Doris had been employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield until her retirement in 1975. She was a hardworking wife and mother and loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed camping and boating. She is survived by 2 children, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Her daughter is Barbara (James) Gust of Marshfield and their children, Brian (Tracy) Gust of Marshfield, and their children, Benjamin and Derek, and Trisha (Steven) Ross of Plymouth, MN and their children, Kate and Thomas. Her son is William (Carla) Scherr, of Marshfield, and their children, Graig (Jessica) Scherr of Muskego, and their children, Madelyn and Elliot, and Heidi (Jason) VanNurden of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters, Bernice Bey and Marian Vaughn and a brother, Norman Podratz. A memorial will be designated at a later date.
