Donald “Grimmy” J Grimshaw May 29, 1945 – October 18, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Donald James “Grimmy” Grimshaw, 74, died Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic Franciscan Healthcare in LaCrosse. He was born May 29, 1945 to Albert J. and Nevis Alba (Huffman) Grimshaw in Kenosha WI. He was a member of the Tomah Senior High School Graduating Class of 1963. After high school he joined the U.S. National Guard. Grimmy drove semi for 51 years. He hauled cranberries when they picked them by hand, and hauled for Overgaard when they were putting the interstate in. He started Grimshaw Trucking, that later became Tomah Transit, and finally Badgerland Freight Transport. He drove last for Wisconsin Transit that is owned by his son Juston. He finished his last load just a few weeks ago. He was a member of the Grassman-Sowle-Larsen-Senz American Legion Post #201. He also was involved with Alcoholics Anonymous and served as a sponsor to many. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Grimmy was hard working, he enjoyed visiting with his friends and relatives, and he always had a funny story or joke to share. He loved his grandchildren, and enjoyed watching their soccer games, taking them out for ice cream, and bringing them to the Christmas Train. He had 3 older sisters and always enjoyed spending time with all of his nieces and nephews. He is survived by a son Juston of New Lisbon, 5 grandchildren, Keera, Laurel, Madison, Nyah, and Jackson Wildes, 2 sisters Hazel Blado and Janice Lobe both of Tomah, 9 nieces and nephews, Nevis, Cathy, Susan, Ron, Shannon, Steve, Tom, Julie and Dan, 11 great grand nieces, 5 great grand nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Beverly, 3 brothers-in-law, Howard Perry, Rueben Blado, and Roger Lobe, 2 nephews, Jimmy and Randy Perry. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St. Tomah. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Mather with military honors by Grassman-Sowle-Larsen-Senz American Legion Post#201. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home on Saturday November 2, 2019 from 9:00 A.M until the time of the service.
