David’s Obituary David Norman Cox, 84, of Kingston, passed away Sunday, October 13th. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Cox for 62 years. Born in Middletown, NY, he was a son of the late Stanley and Alice Cox. After graduating from White Plains Community College in 1956, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving with the Seabees. He was the Honor Man of his graduating class in the Navy and was part of the first International Geophysical Year at the South Pole, Operation Deep Freeze in 1957. After his military service, he was an engineer for New York State Electric & Gas, retiring to Rhode Island. He was active with the Power Squadron and volunteered at the Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge for 18 years. He enjoyed woodworking, sailing, and traveling with his wife. He was an active and devoted member of the Kingston Congregational Church. Dave is survived by his wife, three children Jeffrey Cox of New Port Richey, FL, Laurie Cox Schreiber of Andover, MA, and Randy Cox of Niles, Ohio; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother Austin Cox of Rhinebeck, NY; and a sister Elizabeth Gedney of Whiting, NJ. A memorial service will be held at the Kingston Congregational Church on Sunday, October 27 at 2 PM, reception to follow.
