David G. Guard, 65, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 3:50 am in La Porte Hospital, LaPorte, Indiana. There will be no service or visitation. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana is handling arrangements. He was born November 7, 1953 in Chicago, IL to the late Meridith G. and Irene P.(Tykowski) Guard. Surviving are two sons, David (Kristen) Guard of Michigan City, IN, Matthew Guard of Michigan City, IN; two grandchildren, Ayden Guard, Alice Guard; granddaughter on the way, Victoria Guard. He was preceded in death by mother, Irene P. Guard; father, Meridith G. Guard; son, Daniel Guard; brother, Dale Guard. David served in the United States Marine Corps from 1971-1974. After serving his country David worked as a maintenance boiler associate for Franciscan Health in Michigan City. He was certified as a stationary engineer and enjoyed his job. He was a hard worker and went to work everyday winning many attendance awards. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, going fishing, and watching the Chicago Bears. He was also an avid bowler, playing on different bowling leagues over the years. Contributions may be made to the family of David G. Guard.
