Cynthia Jean Olson, 69 of Duluth, Mn. passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, Oct. 15th 2019 at the Bethany Care Center, Mpls, after complications from pneumonia. “Cindy” was born January 14, 1950 in Chicago to Willard and Doreen Halon. They moved to Duluth when Cindy was two. Cindy enjoyed sewing, baking, growing Geraniums, Cher and Barbara Streisand. She had an incredible sweet tooth and loved raspberries. Her favorite color was bright pink. She wore bright pink nail polish in the summer and red polish in the winter. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Doreen; sister Pam Gresczyk; brother, Bill Halon. Cindy is survived by her children, Rhonda (Kurt) Nelson and Jesse (DeAnna Merdink) Olson; grandchildren, Jacob (Katie) Johnson and Dakota (Amber) Johnson; great grandchildren, Timothy and Luke Johnson; siblings, Suzanne Willis, Michael (Kim) Halon, Angie Pawiroredjo, Jackie Hedenblad, God-daughter Jill Greco, her special friend Brenda Rolandson and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Cynthia’s Life will be Friday, November 1st from 12-2pm in the Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd St. Duluth, MN, (218) 727-3555.
