Clydia B. Crum, age 83, of Newport, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Sunday, October 13, 2019. She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at Bat Harbor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyle Crum; parents, John and Susie Hux; stepmother, Maxie Hux; brothers, Paul and Earl Hux; sisters, Geraldine Wright, Imogene Hux and Hazel Hux; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lester and Nola Crum. She is survived by her children, Daryl (Ellen) Crum, Donald (Debbie) Crum, Susan Carr, Dennis (Sandra) Crum all of Newport; grandchildren, Brandon Crum, Brittnye Crum, Bradley (Brandi) Crum, Kaitlyn (Ian) Metz, Morgan (Austin) Binkley, Caleb Crum, Abby Crum and Braylon McCarter; sister, Edith Pruitt of Newport; sisters-in-law, Betty Hux and Willa Mae Hux; daughter in heart, Johnnie Sue Phillips; also nieces, nephews, other family and friends. The family would like to say a very special “Thank You” to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. Funeral services will be held 7:00pm Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Justin Williams and Harold Ball officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 16, 2019, in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
