Charles “Skeet” W. Reidell, 80, of Mifflinburg, was received into the arms of Jesus at 7:55 a.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at his home. He was born January 25, 1939, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late Charles E. and Mabel E. (Shaffer) Reidell. On December 14, 1957, in New Berlin, he married the former Constance “Connie” A. Maurer, who survives. Skeet was a 1957 graduate of Mifflinburg High School, and a 1970 graduate of Susquehanna University. He played pro baseball for the New York Yankees Organization for 6 years. Skeet was employed as a teacher of Mifflinburg High School for many years, where he coached football, baseball, and basketball, and was yearbook advisor for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, art, and especially spending time with family. Skeet was a member of the Lewisburg Alliance Church, where he served on the Board of Elders, Governing Board, was a Sunday school teacher, and played harmonica on the praise and worship team. He was a proud founder of the Mifflinburg Area Community Scholarship Trust. Surviving in addition to his wife of 61 years, are one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Anne Reidell of Enola; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Shannon Case of Weikert, and Robin and Randy Davis of Mifflinburg; stepmother, Josette Reidell; two brothers and one sister-in-law, John and Patty Reidell, and Donald Reidell; one step-brother and step-sister-in-law, Patrick and Leslie Forsburg; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Roberta Hollenbach, Elizabeth Reidell, and Jeannette and Olivier Bourgoin; and one step-sister and step-brother-in-law, Roxane and Doug Lyons; 18 grandchildren and their spouses, Zachary Reidell, Izabelle Reidell, Andrew Reidell, William Reidell, Joshua Reidell, Brynne Clawser, Paige and Austin Dando, Tess Clawser, Alecia and Kenny Libby, Colby and Jen Case, Lissa and Steve Hoprich, Jonathan Davis and Sheila Snyder, Lindsey and Zac Cuneo, Kaitlin and Ryan Schuck, Chris Porter and Whitney Bertoni, Akeem Clark, Sheldon Davis, Warren Davis; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers-in-law, Rhoda and Charles Fasano, and Glen Hollenbach. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, at the Lewisburg Alliance Church, 137 Supplee Mill Rd., Lewisburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Rubens Ruba, officiating. Burial will follow in Mifflinburg Cemetery.
