Charles R. Shadle November 21, 1925 – October 01, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Charles Robert Shadle, 93, beloved husband of Glenny, died Tuesday, October 1, 2019. Chuck was most recently a resident of Dock Woods community in Lansdale. He was a past resident of Shannondell in Audubon, PA. Chuck and Glenny raised their family in Springfield, Delaware County, PA. Born November 21, 1925 in Elizabethville, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles Shadle and Mildred Lenker Shadle-Cowan. During World War II, Chuck served in the US Navy aboard the USS Jeffers as a Pharmacist’s mate. Chuck majored in economics at Gettysburg College where he played in the band and was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He graduated in 1949 and pursued a long and successful career in insurance. Chuck was a devoted husband and father to his two sons. He enjoyed dancing, being outdoors, and music of all kinds. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Georgia Glendora (Glenny) Northcutt, his sons, Jeffrey Shadle, wife Rebecca of Norristown, and David Shadle, wife Beth of St. Petersburg, FL; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the. Benevolence Fund at Dock Woods Community, 275 Dock Dr., Lansdale, PA 19446.
