Obituary for Carol Browne Carole Harrington Browne, 68 of Frederick Maryland, was called home to rest on January 11, 2017. Born to the late Thomas and Wilhelmina Harrington, Carol was baptized as a teenager at St. Paul Baptist Church in Atlantic Highlands, NJ and later became a faithful member of SURE ministries in Walkersville, MD where she served on the Hospitality Committee. A 1967 graduate of Middletown High School North, Carol went on to earn an A.A. Degree from Piedmont Virginia Community College. She was a valued employee at United Healthcare Group in Frederick, Maryland until her retirement. Carol’s most cherished role was as that of a devoted mother and grandmother. Carol will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was Predeceased by her parents, her sister Paulette Nettles-Zuleger, and her brother Thomas Harrington Jr. Surviving are her husband Israel Browne of Frederick, MD; two sons, Orlando McDowelle and his wife Dana of Pearland, TX, Mark McDowelle of Greenville, NC, and one daughter, Dawn McDowelle-Thomas and her husband James of Gainesville, Florida; two brothers, Gary Harrington of Carson, CA, Rev. David Harrington of Neptune, NJ and one sister, Kelly Harrington-Cosby of Neptune, NJ; three grandchildren, Aaron McDowelle, Harrington McDowelle and Onaje McDowelle; three step daughters Stacy Brown, Natasha Govia and Nerissa Browne, two step grandchildren Aliyah Powell and Elija Powell, an Aunt Barbara Knight of Asbury Park, NJ; four nieces and four nephews; and a host of other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at February 18th, 11:00 a.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church, 1306 Washington Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ.
