Beverly Ann Jenkins, age 51, of Detroit, MI., and formerly of Battle Creek, passed away on October 13, 2019 at Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit. She was born on April 15, 1968 in Chicago, IL., the daughter of Levi and Lucy (Sims) Jenkins. Beverly moved to Battle Creek from Chicago in 1981, and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1986, later moving back to Detroit. She previously worked in the health care field as a nurse’s aide and home care assistant. She also enjoyed working with children as a teacher’s assistant at Davis Ellis Academy in Detroit. Beverly was a member of IBM, she also enjoyed reading the Bible, going to church , cooking, doing hair and loved her children. She was known to always say she was a God fearing woman. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1996 and her aunt; Ruby Luckett. She is survived by her father; Levi Jenkins, daughters; Bethany Holmes of Battle Creek, Brenna William of Ypsilanti, Lucy Massucci of Battle Creek, sons; Jonathan Homes and Levi Jenkins of Battle Creek, sister; Jennifer (George) Martinez of Battle Creek, brother; Levi Jenkins Jr. of Battle Creek, and a granddaughter; Layla Lucas. The family hour will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. , on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Richard A.
