Betty Marie Durst, 79, of Grantsville, MD, died Sunday, October 13, 2019, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville. Born February 3, 1940, in Grantsville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Blaine and Nellie Victoria (Bittinger) Hutzel. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Elmer Durst and Jerry Gregory. Mrs. Durst was a seamstress for the Fechheimer Shirt Factory and a member of the Laughlin Church of the Brethren. She is survived by one daughter, Karen Adams, Cumberland, MD; two brothers, Don Hutzel, Hollidaysburg, PA; Nevin Hutzel, Grantsville; three sisters, Lena Durst, Grantsville; Jean Butler, Fort Hill, PA; Bonnie Hutzel, Somerset, PA; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Harry Paterson officiating. Interment will be in the Laughlin Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.newmanfuneralhomes.com.
