Bernice J. (Bayer) Huff, 90, of Evansville, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was born November 20, 1928 in Inglefield, IN to the late Frank J. and Verona (Lamey) Bayer. Bernice was married on May 1, 1948 in Evansville to the late Charles J. Huff who preceded her in death on November 4, 2014. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and is a current member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was past president of the Altar Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Bernice’s focus was always on her family and her faith. She and Charlie owned a camp on the river where all the family loved to gather. She is survived by her children, David Huff, Sr. (Dot), Larry Huff (Sheila), Judi Hawes (Jack), Chuck Huff (Becky), Jimmy Huff (Tonya), Donnie Huff and Jane Baumgart (Gary); grandchildren, David Huff, Jr. (Lynn), Jamie, B.J., Heather, Jessica, Jason, Bryan and Jeremy Huff, Andrea Harp (Chris), Michael Hawes (Stephanie), Mandy Marx (Travis), Melissa Ritter (Kyle), Matthew Baumgart (Cheryl) and Daniel Baumgart (Leslie); 24 great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Schenk, Katie Hirsch, Delores Tucker, Dorothy Marshall, Anna Ritzert and Rose Ann Barrow; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Huff; daughter, Janet Huff; and brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. Visitation will continue from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Monday, October 7, 2019 at the funeral home. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Father Bernard Etienne officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
