Andrew’s Obituary Andrew A. Deibert, 95, Minot, ND, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at his residence. Andrew was born January 10, 1924, the son of Anton and Theresa (Klein) Deibert, in Verendrye, ND. He went to school to the eight grade at Verendrye. He farmed with his Dad until when he was drafted into the United States Army on January 19, 1946. He proudly served his country for 18 months during World War II serving being stationed at Maryland and Germany. He was honorably discharged on June 5, 1947, receiving the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. After his discharge, he farmed with his brother on the family farm. On October 27, 1948, Andrew married Theresa Marie Mosser at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe. They made their home on farms near Bantry and Sawyer, where they raised their seven children. In 1971, after farming for 23 years, they retired and moved to Karlsruhe, where they worked as custodians for the Karlsruhe School for six years. They then moved to Minot where they were custodians for Nedrose School. In 1992, they retired and moved to Woodridge Trailer Court in Minot. Theresa passed away March 15, 2012. He was a former member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. He was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Minot. Andy enjoyed dancing, playing cards, traveling to Washington State to pick fruit and his daily two hour naps. Andy was a member of the VFW, the Knights of Columbus, the Senior Citizens and the Moose Lodge of Minot. Surviving family includes: sons, Larry (Shirley) Deibert, Minot, Tony (Maggie) Deibert, Lake Stevens, WA, Richard (Julie) Deibert, Langdon, James (Brenda) Deibert, Sioux Falls, SD; daughters, Marlene (Roger) Rice, Minot, Julie Mattern, Rugby, ND, and Jolene (Mike) Renner, Buckley, WA; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several, Great-great-grandchildren; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 63 years, Theresa Deibert; son-in-law; Wayne Mattern; a great grandson, Owen Allison; brothers, Frank, Joe, John and Martin; sisters, Elizabeth, Mary, Tillie, Kathyrn, and Helen. Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, Minot. Interment: Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Karlsruhe, ND on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. Visitation: Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Vigil Prayer Service: Friday, November 1, 2019 at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Memorials: are preferred to St Leo the Great Building Fund. Read More
