Alvin L. Kitts age 77, of Ashland, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 after an extended illness. He was born in Ashland, Ohio on April 13, 1942, the son of the late Melvin and Virgie Kitts. Kitts graduated from Ashland High School. In 1965 he married the love of his life Carolyn Humrichouser. He retired from the Railroad after 40 years. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Ashland Masonic Lodge and the V.F.W. Post 1067. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Kitts; daughter, Tammy Taylor (David Harry); daughter, Stacey Kitts; son, Jeremy Kitts (Pattie); and son, Michael Kitts. He had six grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. He also had one brother, Larry Kitts (Cherri), and one nephew. Funeral services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dr. Eric Risen officiating. Entombment will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 5 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with a Masonic Service at 6:45 P.M.
