Alpatra’s Obituary Forty-five years, 6 months and 12 days was the amount of time God allowed Alpatra to be with us. Known to most as “Mal G”, he made his entrance into the world on November 16, 1973, in Chicago, Illinois. He was welcomed by his mother Patricia Shaw and father Albert Edwards. Most of Al’s formal education was through the Magnolia School District in Arkansas. This is where he met most of the people that would become his life-long friends. Al was a stranger to no one. He traveled many places and met many people throughout his lifetime. As his friends say, “if he was for you, he was for you, if not, he wouldn’t bite his tongue to let you and others know.” Al loved his children and spoke of them often. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching sports and fishing. He married his true love Sharon Beatrice Johnson on August 2, 2018. Alpatra was preceded in death by a son Jarius Shaw and a special uncle James “Frog” Shaw. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Sharon Beatrice Shaw of Malvern, Arkansas; mother, Patricia Ann Watson of Magnolia; father, Albert Edwards (Alma) of Memohis, TN; two sons: Patrick Shaw of Chicago, Illinois and King Shaw of Malvern; three daughters: Raven Easter of Magnolia, Salaiyah Shaw of Mayfield, Kentucky and Alyryq Shaw of Malvern; stepchildren: Akeira, Precious, De’Andre, LaGretchen, Jaquest and JaCobi; maternal grandfather, Willie Shaw Sr. (Sallye) of Carthage, AR; one brother, Timothy Edwards of Memphis, Tennessee; three sisters: Charmica Edwards, Brittany Edwards both of Memphis, TN. and Shawnaa Flanigan (Alvin) of Magnolia, AR; three loving grandchildren: Zadreak Shaw, Emery Easter and Jeremiah Harris; special nieces: Akia and Kandyse Flanigan, Numerous aunts, uncles and a host of other people that loved and looked up to him. His Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am, on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Victory Praise and Worship Church, located at 404 North Banks Street, in Malvern Arkansas. There will be a visitation for family and friends at Brandon’s Mortuary in Malvern, from 12:00 noon – 5:00pm, on Friday, June 7, 2019. His earthly body will be laid to rest at Hampton Springs Cemetery, Lea’s Ridge, AR. Read More
