Alisa “Le Le”‘s Obituary Alisa (Le Le) Ann Keys Whipkey, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away Tuesday, October 29th, after numerous health battles. Le Le is preceded in death by her parents, J.F. and Margaret Keys, and sister, Caren Lowdermilk. She is survived by her four children, sons Michael Whipkey and wife Audrey, Casey Whipkey, Steven Soza and wife Priscilla, and daughter, Donyelle Whipkey, grandchildren: Larissa, Angel, Ashtyn, Alex, Isaiah, Anthony, Trevor, Isaac, Kamryn and Daizy, who all referred to her as Grandma Lady. Also survived by sisters Jeryn Hogan and husband Larry, and Dana Jones, and numerous nieces and nephews. Le Le was born February 17, 1960 in Houston, Texas. She was the 2nd of four daughters born to J.F. and Margaret Keys. Le Le lived most of her life in Pasadena and Houston, where the most important role of her life was being a Mother to her four children. For all the trials and tribulation in Le Le’s life, she did something right and you can see the proof in the outstanding character, love and loyalty between her children. She loved her family fiercely. Le Le was smart, kind, loved to laugh and loved being with her family. Le Le will be remembered for her sense of humor, her beautiful smile and her determination to always do things her way. We will miss her so much. Her sister’s favorite memories: My very favorite childhood memory was when me and Le Le were maybe 10 and 12 and decided we wanted to join my cousin Eddie and become cowgirls. Eddie was a cowboy, had horses in his backyard and competed in local rodeo competitions. Le Le and I were totally inexperienced riders but decided we were going to train to become barrel racers. We practiced (and laughed) for hours there in that back yard, sliding off that horse and falling over and over again. It’s a wonder no one was seriously hurt. When Le Le and I were young, there was a local tv show on in the afternoons that was called Kitirik, where the hostess of the show was a woman dressed in a cat suit. My mother entered Le Le and I in a beauty contest on the Kitirik show. Le Le and I were so excited – we had our hair done up bouffant style (this was in the 60’s), got new fancy dresses and there was a swimsuit category. Neither Le Le or I won the beauty contest, but we thought we did and treasured out little participation trophies. We had a happy childhood. Lots of family time, time spent with aunts, uncles and cousins. Piano lessons, family fishing trips, family picnics, lots of laughter. We had wonderful, big Christmas celebrations with four girls. Lots of baby dolls, doll strollers, and bicycles under the tree. My Mother would often dress us alike and we loved it. We spent many hours with hairbrushes in hand as our microphones, lip synching and singing to the radio in front of the mirror. We had a childhood where we played outside until dark with the neighborhood kids. Mom – “We might not have it all together. But together we have it all”. Memorial service will be held 5:00 PM Saturday November 2, 2019 in the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors with Pastor Jerry Garner officiating. Read More
