Obituary of Alice E. Munkelt Alice Edna Munkelt, 97, went to be with the Lord October 21, 2019. Born in Nanuet, New York to the late Nelson and Emma McGill, she was a resident there for sixty years before settling in Montrose, Pennsylvania with her beloved late husband, Donald Munkelt. She was predeceased by her brother Charles McGill and sisters Grace Burnham and Emma McLeod. She is survived by her sister Helen Roth, daughters Wendy Rozelle of Tunkhannock, PA, and Leslie (Joseph) Robert of New Hampton, NY, sons Kirk (MaryAnne) Munkelt of Merritt Island, FL and Eric (Joanne) Munkelt of New Windsor, NY, along with thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and three expected. While living in Nanuet, she was active in the Grace Conservative Baptist Church, and later in the Grace Baptist Church of Suffern, NY. She served on many committees, sang in both choirs, taught 40 years in their Sunday Schools, was Missionary Chairman, Sunday School Chairman, and led the Women’s groups. In Bridgewater Baptist she taught Sunday School and was Chairman of the Golden Heirs senior group for nineteen years. She also wrote biographic sketches for the church paper. She was a published poet in several poetry groups and her poems are in more than a dozen volumes. Her family wishes to express thanks to the caring staff of Meadow View, her home for the past two years, to her doctors and nurses at EMHS, and to Pastor Bob of Bridgewater Baptist. A special thanks goes out to the wonderful nurses from Hospice of Sacred Heart for their kindness and support in her final weeks. Her greatest desire was to see the face of Jesus. Our personal loss as a family is Heaven’s gain as a beautiful soul has entered its midst.
