Whitehead, age 62, transitioned from this life on Friday, September 13, 2019 at his home. He was born July 9, 1957 in Edgecombe County, NC to Mary Graham Whitehead and the late Ernest Lee Whitehead. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife; Brenda Whitehead of Greenville, NC, mother; Mary Whitehead of Greenville, NC, two sons; Jermicheal Hyman, Lotroy Whitehead both of Greenville, NC, five daughters; Georgeana Carney, Towanda Carney, Nicole Carney, Jennifer Whitehead all of Greenville, NC, Jermolia Hyman of Tallahassee, FL, three brothers; Ernest Whitehead, Jr., James Whitehead both of Greenville, NC, Sammy Whitehead of Newport News, VA, six sisters; Emma May, Brenda Freeman, Sarah Barnes, Angeline Whitehead, Shirley Whitehead all of Greenville, NC, Mary Bernard of Charlotte, NC, eighteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, with a host of other loving relatives and friends. A Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Hemby-Willoughby Funeral Home in Fountain with Pastor Vandy L. Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Buddy Hemby Cemetery, Fountain, NC. Services are entrusted to Hemby-Willoughby Funeral Home of Fountain, NC.
