Sister Marie Carmel Fisk, OSC, born Halcon J. Fisk to the late Eugene and Mary (Barden) Fisk; the youngest of nine children, died Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the age of 90. She was baptized Catholic in Tokyo, Japan while in the Army WAC services and confirmed in New York City on December 24, 1955 while still in the U.S. Service. She served nearly 30 years in the WAC’s and was discharged honorably in 1968. In 1973, she entered the Monastery of St. Clare here in Evansville, IN and made her Solemn Vows on December 8, 1974. She served her sisters in nearly all capacities and especially as an LPN, caring for her sick and elderly sisters and writing her correspondence about the Lord and Scripture. She especially remembered the military in her prayer intentions. She leaves many nieces, nephews and friends as well as her Poor Clare sisters. Visitation will be held as rosary and remembrances at the Monastery of St. Clare, 6825 Nurrenbern Rd. on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. The Christian Mass of Resurrection will also be held at the Monastery on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 9:30 AM. There will be viewing held prior to the mass beginning at 9:00 AM. Contributions and/or Masses may be made to the Monastery of St. Clare, 6825 Nurrenbern Road, Evansville, IN 47712 or to the charity of your choice. Pierre Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
