Slayton Rich, 22, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019 in Beaumont, Texas. Slayton was born in Beaumont, Texas on December 28, 1996 to Sammy L. Rich and Paula Wilson Rich. Slayton enjoyed playing his Xbox and his favorite games were Fallout and Halo. He loved going to concerts and the movies. He was very witty with a bit of sarcasm thrown in from time to time. He loved pizza, Doritos, Kit Kats, Oreos and was a fast food junkie. He played football, baseball and played the tuba in the band. Those left to cherish Slayton’s memory are his parents, Sammy L. and Paula Wilson Rich of Nederland; two brothers, Justin Thomas and his wife, Melissa of Groves, Texas and Phillip Thomas and his wife, Gillian Shapiro of San Mateo, California; his sister, Jennifer LaFleur and her husband, Brandon of Bridge City, Texas; his grandparents, Lawrence and Monica Wilson of Nederland; and a host of loving Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and close friends. Slayton will be forever in the hearts of all his family and countless close friends. Slayton is preceded in death by his grandparents, Slayton E. and Elaine D. Rich. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland of Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Hammonds, Officiant. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland.
