SFC. (Ret.) George “Rocky”‘s Obituary Sfc. (Ret.) George Albert “Rocky” Cochran, 76, of Belton passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Baylor-Scott and White Hospital in Temple. A memorial service for Mr. Cochran will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home chapel in Belton with Mike Baggerly officiating. Graveside services with Full Military Honors will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Rocky was born on August 11, 1943 in Williamsport, PA to George and Jeannette (Shumbat) Cochran. He grew up in Williamsport and graduated high school there. Mr. Cochran entered the US Army in 1961 and during his enlistment was stationed at Ft. Hood in 1973. He served honorably for twenty years before retiring in 1982. He began working for the Temple City Library in maintenance for an additional 20 years before retiring again. Mr. Cochran married Takako Kohagura on September 26, 1966 in Okinawa, Japan and they were married for almost 53 years before he passed away. Mr. Cochran was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ernest Cochran and John Cochran. He is survived by his wife Takako, Godchild Amanda Linn, and brothers Kenny Cochran and Terry Cochran both of Williamsport, PA. Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of the arrangements.
