Mr. Sammy Wilton Stroud age 75, passed away Sunday September 22, 2019 at his home in Lake, MS. Visitation will be held Thursday September 26, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. A Funeral Service will be held Friday September 27, 2019 at Hazel Baptist Church in Lake, MS at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Hazel Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Victor Bugg and Brother Sam Taylor will officiate. Mr. Stroud was a lifelong resident of Lake, MS. He was a member of Hazel Baptist Church in Lake, MS. He liked to trailride with the Central MS Trailrider Association. He was an avid deer hunter. He pastored Hebron Baptist Church in Eupora, MS, Freeny Baptist Church in Carthage, MS and Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Lena, MS. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Howard Stroud and Margaret McDill Stroud; grandparents, Sam and Ida Stroud, Ed and Bracie McDill; and brother, James Doyce Stroud. He is survived by his wife Laura Renee Stroud; four children, Nolan ( Angela) Stroud of Lake, MS, Reshelle Stroud of Lake, MS, Delana Johnson ( Michael) of Lake, MS and Melanie Fuller ( Shawn) of West Pueblo, CO; two brothers, Jimmy Stroud ( Mary) of Lake, MS and Carlton Stroud ( Vickie) of Lake, MS; four grand-children Dewayne Williams ( Mindy) , Lane Williams, Cheyenne Williams and Mackenzie Stroud; five great grandchildren, Blakeland Williams, Jaxington Williams, Rylington Williams, Karalyda Williams and Bryler Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
