Rosa Valvano June 28, 1918 – September 25, 2019 Mt. Kisco, NY Valvano, Rosa Rosa Valvano, at the beautiful age of 101, of Mt. Kisco, died Wednesday morning (9-25-2019) surrounded by her family. She was born in Avellino, Italy, on June 28, 1918. Rosa Valvano lived in Italy where she met and married MichaelArcangelo Valvano. The two of them would have two daughters Lina and Carmelina. In hopes of a better life, she emigrated to the United States in the early 1970’s. She immediately started working for Northern Westchester Hospital in housekeeping for approximately 10 years. Retiring at the age of 65, she spent the next 10 years as a companion to many beloved family and friends always telling stories and helping to pass their days with some smiles and laughter. She is known by many in the area as “Zia Rosa”. Born: June 28, 1918 Death: September 25, 2019 She is survived by her Daughter, Lina Petriello of Quebec , Canada and her husband Paolo. She is predeceased by her husband MichaelArcangelo, daughter Carmelina Biancamano and son in law Giuseppe. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, and their spouses; Rosetta (George) , Mary (Adan) , Paolo (Carmela) , Michelle (Carmelo) and Tony ( Rosie) , 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter along with many nieces and nephews. She can be remembered most for her strength, her love of life, singing and her unconditional faith. She never missed an opportunity to give a loving kiss, or a hug or sing songs at any party or gathering. She was a wonderful example to all of how life should be lived to the fullest and with elegance and dignity. Calling hours will be Thursday evening (9/26/2019) from 4-8 P.M. at Cassidy Flynn Funeral Home, 288 E Main Street, Mt Kisco, NY Funeral services will be Friday (9/27/2019) at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Mt. Kisco NY at 10:00 A.M. Burial services to follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Mt. Kisco.
