Ronald Clayton Joy Sr., 79, affectionately known by his friends and family as “Pee Wee” and by his grandkids and great grandkids as “Papa Joy,” of Leander, Texas was called to his real home with the Lord on Friday, August 16, 2019. He was born in Cottonwood, Texas on April 25, 1940 to the late Rufus Clayton and Myrtle Glendora (Clark) Joy. He married Renee McKinley on July19, 1958. Pee Wee was a friend to everyone and spent a lifetime helping others. His legacy of love will live on with those left to cherish his love and memories including, his children: Creshia and Rolen Bailey, Ron and Tammy Joy, and Corey and Mary Joy; brother: Darrell and wife Brenda Joy; sisters: Pat and husband Milton Jones, Lois and husband Bobby Welch; grandchildren: Chris and Devanie Bailey, Kerini and Nate Burns, Kara and Kyle Monde, Sarah Joy, Josh and Abby Joy, Eli Joy and Isabella Joy and great-grandchildren: Keegan Bailey, Kaylen Bailey, Kaitlin Monde and Levi Burns. He is also survived by his loving companion Johnna Massey and his dear friends and neighbors at Leander Station Senior Village. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Renee; his parents; brothers: Claxton, Dickey and Steve; sister: Geneva; and grandchild: Cody Bailey. Visitation will be on Monday, August 19, 2019, at Heritage Funeral Home, 905 Bevans Street, Menard, Texas at 10:00 am with funeral services following at 11:00 am, officiated by Corey Joy. Private Interment will be held in Fort McKavett, Texas.
