February 24 1926 September 20 2019 (age 93)
Robert (Bob) W. Morrison, age 93, of Bellingham and Birch Bay Village, WA, passed away peacefully Friday, September 20, 2019. Bob was born on February 24, 1926 in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, to Francis Robert James (Jack) Morrison and Robina (Bena) (Gibb) Morrison. In 1944 Bob joined the Canadian Army Infantry and served until the end of the war, when he began his career with the Great Northern Railway. On June 11, 1949 Bob married Valentina (Val) Shatzko, the love of his life. They had two children, Allan and Lori. Bob retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1981 as Vice President Marketing. They moved to Birch Bay Village, Blaine, Washington and built a home overlooking the Pacific Ocean, where they entertained relatives and friends, and where summer family visits were filled with sunny days of golf, boating, crabbing and clamming, fishing, swimming and just spending time together. It was here that Grampa Bob forged a lasting bond of love with his grandchildren that will keep him close to their hearts forever. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In their later years Bob was known for his steadfast, tender, loving care and devotion for Val. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and grandsons Peter Robert Forchtner and Michael Thomas Morrison. He is survived by his loving wife Val, daughter Lori Washburn, son Al (Linda) Morrison, grandchildren Joey (Shelby) Forchtner, Juliet Forchtner, Dan (Lindsey) Morrison and Sean Morrison, and great grandchildren Macy, Jay, Bentley and Dax. Bob will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Robert Bob W Morrison February 24 1926 September 20 2019 (age 93).
