Rafalia “Rachel” Kochaniuk died Friday, September 13, 2019 in Covenant Hospital, Lubbock Texas. She was born February 11, 1930 in the Ukraine. Rachel is survived by two sisters, Nellia and Nadia, living in Ukraine. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. She came to the United States in 1986 to care for her brother Ananise after he suffered a stroke. They lived together and worked as tailors in Midland Texas. Rachel had many friends, always welcoming them to her home with bakery and a cup of tea. Always optimistic, never complaining, making those around her comfortable and happy.
