Paul Roy Roth was born September 17, 1933 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Portland. He was one of three children of Casper and Marie (Balmer) Roth. He passed away peacefully on September 10, 2019 with his family by his side at Avamere Memory Care in Newberg. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend to all who knew him. He grew up living and working on his family’s dairy farms. First 15 years on a farm near SW 45th & Vermont and then later on a farm in Dayton. He graduated from Dayton High School in 1952. After high school he was drafted into the U.S. Army and proudly served his county in the Korean War. Upon returning from Korea he got a job as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service where he worked until he retired with over 30 years of service. After retiring he drove the Senior Service Shuttle Bus in Newberg where he was at his best assisting others in need and enjoying every minute of it. He also coached our little league baseball teams where he played everybody every game. In 1959 he met his lovely wife Penelope (Derowitsch) Roth and they married in 1960. They were blessed to share 59 years together. They had 3 children, Deborah Barber (Little Paul), Jonathan Roth (Mary), and Jamie Roth (Tonya). They had 9 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. They moved to Newberg in 1970 where they lived and raised their children together.
