Paul M. Manno, age 86, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully, Saturday September 21, 2019 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady. He was born in Gloversville a son of the late Paul and Helen Hladik Manno. Paul was a 1950 graduate of Johnstown High School and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1955. Paul was employed letter carrier for 32 years at the Johnstown Post Office. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Church, the Pine Tree Rifle Club, Johnstown Moose and the former Albin Hills Country Club now Fox Run. His hobbies included Golf, Gardening, Fishing, Camping and trips to Myrtle Beach. Survivors include his wife Irene Hladik whom he married on May 4, 1957; his brother Robert Manno and his wife Sharon; brothers-in-law, Steve Otruba, William Knuffke and Edward Testerman; sister-in-law Kathie Hladik; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister-in-law Rose Otruba, Otilia Knuffke and Marilyn Testerman; brother-in-law K. John Hladik. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday September 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Church, Glebe Street, Johnstown. With Rev. Matthew Wetzel as celebrant. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 4PM until 7PM at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home 1 N. Melcher Street, Johnstown. In lieu of Flowers memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville, New York 12078 or to the Johnstown Public Library.
